I'm A Rising Star!!!.

To tell you the truth, when a manager at my place of business told me this, I had no idea what it meant. One month and another week of recognition later, I still don't know what it means, but I care.

I wonder if I could take the little plaque of recognition and travel the world. I wonder if people in Oman would care that I am pretty much a big deal with my rising star award? God! I hope so, because I care that Oman has been named the most improved nation in the past 40 years. Thank you Wikipedia!!!

But seriously, what does this label of rising star mean?

I was told that it meant that my productivity has improved by 40%. So if the loyal legion were paying attention to the first paragraph, they would know that last month my productivity went up 40% from I-don't-know-what %, and that currently my rising star status has risen 40% of 40%. So overall, my productivity within my place of business is at a 80+ percentage.

This would mean that my place of business has decided to reward me by giving me a raise, right?

HELL NO!!!

What the company has decided to do, since I've been such a good employee, is give me vacation or PTO.

For those of you who don't know (and don't worry because I didn't know this until last night) PTO stands for Paid Time Off. I can use PTO time when I go on vacation and get paid while I'm in Hawaii instead of in my place of business. I can also use this time for times that I need to have a day or two off (not in Hawaii). For example, if I get sick on a day that I am supposed to be working, I can request that I have that day off and the next to re-cooperate, and still get paid as if I were working.

After everything was explained to me, I immediately became excited and planned a trip. I had already purchased a ticket to go to Los Angeles, California on May 4. I planned on having a short trip out of fear of being dead broke by the time I got back, but with this new emergence of PTO, I currently have the option of staying for a full week...or two.

So now instead of only spending Cinco De Mayo in Los Angeles, I will spend a week (or two). I don't know what I'll be doing. Looking for places to live is definitely at the top of the list.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but I have to get the hell out of Chicago. I've had nothing but bad shit happen to me like when my car got broken into, that bad encounter with a Jesus freak, bland nights out, bad dates, a hospital stay (I don't think I talked about that one), and freezing cold weather.

I'm sick of it.

Moving date: September 7, 2011. Let the countdown begin.

Life Is Making Me Bitter

I try so hard to be as optimistic as I possibly can. I don't know, for some reason, right when I feel as though I'm on the right track something happens that makes me want to jump in front of a bus and end it all!

Last night, my car was broken into. I don't have a nice car like some of the home owners on my block, so I never thought that this would happen to me, but it did. At the time that I found out, I got angry, but not enraged. I have come to realize that a person cannot have nice things in certain neighborhoods. It's a fact. A home can get broken into just for possessing nice things that the homeowners spent their hard earned money on. And of course it is the homeowners fault, no fault of the violator, because he or she should have known not to own such nice things in a shit neighborhood.

I called the police, but what can they do? They're only the police. No one came for over an hour and no one came to collect evidence. I'm sure there was plenty of it since the violator broke my back window, climbed through it, crawled over broken glass, sat in my front seat, ripped off the steering panel, broke the handle for my windshield wipers, and tried to hot wire my car. Evidence everywhere. Do you know what the officers told me when I asked them were they going to dust for finger prints. "Miss they won't even come out for something like this. You can have all the evidence in the world and no one would come out just for a car that got broken into." Oh okay. I just sat there frustrated. Why wouldn't whoever come out to dust for fingerprints? Then it dawned on me, they don't want to come out to dust for fingerprints. They're waiting for a big crime like a murder or a huge bank robbery to dust for fingerprints. My little car doesn't matter. It's only a car. I can survive without it. Get over it lady, move on.

I seriously can't believe this happened to me, but I'm too frustrated with the lack of help that I'm receiving from the Chicago Police to even get irate. I really want to, but then I think about other things that calm me down, like the fact that I have to pay a $500 deductible to get my car fixed. $500 of which I do not have. $500 that will set me back even further and derail my hope of getting the fuck out of Chicago by March 2011.

But who was I kidding? How dare I hope to get out of this neighborhood? That would be something entirely too nice.

Back from Cali!

Back from Cali and I had to have a day of rest. WOOOOO! I didn't know that sleep was so important until my last full day in Cali. I barely slept before the trip and I felt the major lack of it on the last day. A friend and I were walking on Santa Monica Pier and boom! I felt like passing out. SO the lesson of the day: Get at least 8 hours of sleep before any major traveling.

Anywho, remember the guy I said was a real man? The one I pocket dialed on accident? Well UGH! What in the hell? I have seriously been talking to Patrick Bateman since January 2010 and didn't even know it. WOW! dude just flipped on me like some major wack job then tried to say that it was I. I basically asked him why he was acting so shady towards me and he said, and I quote, "I can't deal with this. This is too much. You are over analyzing everything!"

What? How can one over analyze if there is nothing there to analyze. And I must admit that I was a little awkward when I went to go see him, but give me a break it was technically our first meeting since the first time I met him in October of 2008. Bitch please! On to the next one.

Besides dealing with crazy ass dudes, being sleep deprived, and going ridiculously broke, I must say that I had a good time in California. I ran into some speed bumps, but all is good, and I can't wait for my next trip. I'm planning on visiting my family in December and bringing in the new year with my friends. I really enjoyed myself and couldn't believe how hospitable my friends and family were to me and my friend. They are seriously the best!

Off To LA and Happy Birthday Keanu!

I'm supposed to be asleep, but I don't really feel like sleeping. Maybe I'll do it on the plane. A big part of me not being able to sleep is because I just found out that I will have to pay $25 to check a bag (I'm flying American Airlines but I usually fly Southwest, so I had no idea). I'm not too happy about that.

Then there is the fact that I will be seeing all of my old friends again. I honestly can't sit still and I'm so close to tears. Maranara, Marieski, Wanda, and all my Alkies in Cali! I'm so excited to be back!

Me and the two other girls I'm traveling with are also staying at a really nice hotel. Although I have friends and family in LA, I love staying in hotels. I like to be able to do my own thing in my own little space.

It's 3 am and I'm thisclose to leaving. Yay! LA here I come, again.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Fever???

Why do I believe it's a fever? Maybe because everyone seems to be talking about the dude with the ass long name. I remember him from that piece of sh*t movie Holy Matrimony, one of my favorite baseball movies (after The Sandlot) Angels In The Outfield, and of course 500 Days of Summer.

NO! I haven't seen Inception yet. After paying for my California trip and buying the necessary juke food, I was too broke to pay for it. I'll try to go sometime this week, and I'll make sure I'll give my honest opinion about this movie.

go to hitrecord and meet Regular Joe.

I was bored

so I decided to look at mugshots online. I somehow made it onto KTLA's faces of meth page. I'm speechless. Day4.
