I’m Back and Beyonce is Pregnant

I’m sorry but I had to leave for a little while. However, I’m back!

I have received your emails and I would like to let you know that nothing has happened. I’ve just been crazy busy!

All this time I’ve been working! Working! Working! Like a crazy person to make things happened and it’s great to finally see everything come together.

I could cry! But I won’t cuz I’m no punk. So instead, I go shopping. And I can’t wait to wear my new boots!!!!!!!!!!

Another part of my happiness is Second City. I finally gathered up the courage to start taking classes at Second City. I’ve always wanted to go, but for some reason I never believed in my ability to write and was content with just working my bullshit job. Then one night I dreamed that I died. Nothing eventful happened in the dream. NO! My ass just died and I hadn’t done anything with my life that I was proud of. The very next day, I started looking at classes. All last minute and shit (typical me), majority of the classes that I wanted to take were filled, but I lucked up and found a class that would accommodate me and my current work schedule.

And of course I can’t go anywhere without finding a man to occupy my thoughts. This one is one of my classmates from my Second City writing class. I like him, but I don’t want to say too much because he might be reading this (he’s officially a part of the loyal legion!!!). However, I will say this, I’m having a lot of fun and it’s nice to be around him. It’s also great not to have to worry about what I’m saying or doing because he is just as silly as I am. It’s nice.

To wrap things up, I want to explain why I named this post I’m back and Beyonce is Pregnant! When I started writing this post, a tribute for Aaliyah was playing on BET. The day that I found out Aaliyah died was the same day I had tickets to go see Destiny’s Child in concert. I remember thinking that I didn’t want to go. It was officially a day of mourning. My idol was gone, but I went anyway. The entire time I was at the concert I thought about how I would have enjoyed watching Aaliyah on stage instead of that hollering Beyonce.

Is it just me or does this girl scream on every fucking song she sings. I swear it seems like if she's not screaming then she's forcing a whoa-whoa-whoaing lyric out.

With Aaliyah, there was no hollering. She didn't even whoa-whoa-whoa. She simply sang. Then every once in a while she would let out a yeah-eeeee-yeahhhhhhh. Beautiful!

I don't know, but to me it's like Beyonce just does wayyyyyyy too much, yet not enough for me to like her. Don't get me wrong! I will bump a Beyonce song if I think it's hot. However, hot hardly comes and I'm always wondering about if Aaliyah was still alive would she even be relevant?

Hell no!

It's Surely Not The Trailer

Because this shit seems pretty lame. However, the main reason why I would even consider watching a guaranteed shit fest like Battleship is to look at the Skarsgard.

I don't know if my loyal legion has noticed, but I haven't mentioned True Blood since it premiered last month. That's because I haven't seen an episode yet. Why? Because shit happened and that I'm still too pissed to talk about it at the moment.

But watching this trailer reminded me that there are other ways for me to get my Skarsgard fix. He has been in other things besides the True Blood. There is this one movie where he plays a tranny who wants to set him/herself on fire. And if you got through that last sentence without scratching your head then you'll probably love it. However, after watching the movie I wanted to set the DVD on fire. I felt that it would save others from renting such crap...

Anywho, here is the trailer for the much anticipated Battleship. Apparently Rihanna is in it, but lucky for me she didn't she didn't spoil the trailer by popping her light bulb-shaped head onto the screen...Someone actually told me that I looked like her. I proceeded to poke that person in the eyeball.

Happy 400th Post!!!

Another 100 posts. I can't believe I've posted 400 posts that people have actually read.

When I started this blog a little over a year ago, I never thought that I would make it to 100 posts let alone 400 posts. This is pretty cool.

I really don't have much to say except thank you to the Loyal Legion.

I truly appreciate it.

How Could I Forget???

All this time I've been whining about how long it's taking season 4 of True Blood to premiere, and I forgot all about the 12th anniversary of the first time I saw The Matrix.

Yes! I'm a dork, and damn proud of it.

If you're reading this and you're a part of my loyal legion, then you should already know about my love of all things Matrix and Keanu. Not only do I love The Matrix, I also love its sequels. I understand all of them, and I can tell you just about every line from all three films. The same goes for my love of Keanu. I've seen just about all of his films. Therefore, I am his stan (slang for huge fan), and if given the choice to only choose one movie to watch for the rest of my life it would be one of his.

As a tribute to this glorious occasion, I will post the link to The Matrix paper I wrote and aced last year.

Yes I'm obsessed, and I don't care who knows it.

You Can Blame The Boredom For This One

But I just realized that I am 6 degrees of separation away from Alexander Skarsgard.

I'm a little embarrassed that I still remember the rules of this game, but I'm not going to lie...it's a little exciting.

So I'll start by telling you how I realized this. While I was living in LA, I met a French dude (They're always French) named Alain. Alain, like everyone trying to make it in LA, passed time and paid bills as a bartender at Snow White's. I loved that place while I was living in LA. My co-workers and I would always venture there after a hard day at work. Alain would always be there doing his job and just being awesome. Everyone I know who knows Alain loves Alain, and if you didn't you were some kind of freak.

Okay so is friends with Jim Parrack who plays Hoyt on True Blood. I don't know how they know each other, but I while on Facebook today (I WAS BORED!!!), I saw that they knew each other. If the loyal legion knew Alain like I know Alain, they would know that Alain ain't the type to add somewhat famous people to their list of facebook friends just because they're famous. So I'm assuming that they know each other because of some acting gig, class, or circle.

If someone were to really sit down and give a shit about what I'm writing about they would see that in actuality I am really only two degrees away from The Skarsgard, but I stretched that shit out just to stay within the rules of six degrees of separation.

Moving on, Parrack's character Hoyt is in love with baby vamp Jessica whose maker is Bill, the vampire who is in love with Sookie. Sookie is a sometimes very annoying waitress who was once tricked by Eric, played by Alexander Skarsgard, to save his after a Christian group tried to blow up a vampire party in Dallas.

Okay so here are all of the degrees; all stretched out and shit:
Me

After I figured all of this stuff out, I realized not only am I incredibly bored but I'm also ridiculous. This is what happens when I don't have to work for some time. Unplanned mini-vacations are hell when there is absolutely nothing to do. Maybe I'll go find a book I haven't read, or write one.

Monde de I'imaginaire

Since I've started this blog, it has always been my intention to share poems and short stories that I've written with my audience. However, I never felt this was the appropriate place to post my work. So after months of hyping myself up, I finally decided to share my work with the loyal legion.

If the loyal legion is interested in what it is that I do when I'm not giving you all the details of my random ass life, then they can go to Monde de I'imaginaire (Realm of Imagination).

I had to name the new site after something close to home. Why is the title in French? I've been listening to a lot of Vanessa Paradis lately and I really want to learn French. Also, I did write my first poem when I was in 6th grade about imagination. I don't remember what it said, but it must have been good since my English teacher asked me if she could have it.

I wish I still had that poem instead of the faint memories of its title and content, but oh well. I guess I've been making up for that with the endless amount of notebooks filled with what I once thought was silently cluttered nonsense.

I will be sharing my work with the loyal legion and accept work from others. If anyone would like to participate in my newest project they could send their poems and/or short stories to Writerado@yahoo.com.

Oh and comments will be encouraged and accepted on this new page.

The Experience and Review of I Will Follow

The first time I heard of this movie, was on the way to the AMC movie theater in Country Club Hills, IL. Driving from my house in Chicago to a theater way out in the boonies was nothing out of the ordinary. My mother and I used to venture out to that theater when we lived in Lansing, IL, but it was the first time we had to go out far to see a specific movie. It is a real shame that the AMC theaters closest to my home didn't have this movie's name upon their marquee, but it I'm glad because it has finally opened my eyes to how people treat a black independent film vs. a white independent film.

Just last week, I told my loyal legion about going to see Jane Eyre at my local AMC theater. I was supposed to see I Will Follow, that same day, but the distances between the two theaters made me just want to go home. However, since I drug my mother to see Jane Eyre, I promised her I would see this movie.

I honestly thought she was speaking of the movie Limitless. Then she mentioned Sallie Richardson-Whitfield promoting the film on the radio, and I realized the only thing these movies had in common was the fact that they were both movies and nothing more.

Things weren't looking so good when we arrived to the theater and was told that movie was showing wayyyyyyy in the back of the venue, where they usually show movies that don't do so good in box office sales (I saw that God awful 10,000 B.C. in that same show room). I believe my exact word was, "Damn!", when we finally reached show room #5. I was surprised to see the crowd of people, maybe they had heard Sallie on the radio too.

The movie started and I was intrigued. This is not a happy film. It is a movie showing people at low times of selfishness, weakness, and bitterness. I often get annoyed with movies that start off sad without any explanation, but I soon found out that this wasn't a movie that was supposed to linger on the sad elements. It's about growth.
I will not give a synopsis of this movie, out of fear of giving the movie away. However, I will say you will like this movie. It's not a film that will come right out and say what it's about, but if the audience sticks with it from beginning to end (and understand the many U2 and other musical references) they will see what I saw: A great movie.

Last week, during my review of Jane Eyre, I cursed the creators of modern movie technology. The current trend of CGI's big budgeted movie magic has made it difficult for movies like I Will Follow (also starring Michole Briana White, Tracie Thoms, Blair Underwood, and Beverly Todd) to succeed at the box office. I also said that the former reliability of "word of mouth" was dead and gone. I was proven wrong by seeing this movie. This is a film which popularity has grown because of word of mouth, and I'm hoping to help it grow even bigger.

Trust me when I say, Great acting + Great script = Great movie.

Now that's how it's supposed to be.

War of the Gargantuas

I would honestly sit in front of my television and watch these movies so much that I'm positive I know every line to just about every one of the movies listed above.

Sometimes I find myself sitting at work humming the entire theme to Enter The Dragon or making the sound effects from Master of the Flying Guillotine. However, there are some things that I would love to banish from my brain forever.

Last night while I was trying to fall asleep, I kept singing the words to a song that was in The War of the Gargantuas, which stands as the worst movie I've EVER seen.

I still can't understand why in the middle of a horror movie, the creators of this film thought it would be a good idea for a musical number to be had, but it's there. I also can't understand how and why someone would write such a shit song to be heard by millions (I know I'm over exaggerating...hundreds), but it was written. I will also never understand why, at such an important time for sleep, I had this song stuck in my head, but it was there.

I've only seen this movie once, but I still remember that most unsavory song.

I'm A Criminal

I have done so much wrong in my life, that I'm surprised I'm not locked up and asking my mother to send syrup in my care package.

I'm not going to sit here and type out every little detail of my criminal past, that will be dumb ass hell. What if one of the loyal legion is one of my victims? Oh no! I'm not going to be the new fish at a lady jail for the sake of a good story. Just know I'm something like a rebel.

One of the great things about being a rebel, is not judging people before you get to know them. That is exactly what I did when it came to Jackie, my partner in crime. She was my first LA (and only) native. She's a fast talking, tatted up little pixie, with a bull-hooped nose ring. She's so punk rock and I'm so not. We look like we don't belong anywhere near each other, but I'm glad I met her. She's cool as hell.

I met her through my roommate at the time, I've mentioned her before, Marie. I might have known Jackie for all of five minutes before she told me the truth about someone I secretly knew was borderline crazy. In the end, we both were right about said person, and hopefully he/she/it will no longer be around when it's time for me to move back to LA.

Jackie is in New York City now. She started a blog about her new life in NY called Jackie In The (Other) Big City. It's really good! I hope when I visit (either Jackie or other NY friends) that I will be able to check out a $5 dumpling. I love a good dumpling and I miss shenanigans.

It's Finally Here!!!

I don't know about my loyal legion, but I have had the week from hell. It seemed like Friday would never get here, and here it is...I don't know what I was so anxious for.

Regardless of this dumb week and the tomfoolery I had to put up with, things are starting to look up. The first official trailer for X-Men:First Class is here!!!

This trailer is already showing me everything I've always wanted to see from an X-Men film: What the hell is up with Magneto?

This feeling that I'm experiencing is unlike any other feeling I have ever had whenever I've watched the trailer for a future summer movie. I actually want to see more.

I'm kinda upset that it's only 2/11/2011! Why is time messing with me?

LAZY SNOW DAY!!!

For those of you who don't know (or who don't watch the news), Chicago just went through one of the worst snow storms in history. I was right in the middle of it all when I got off of work last night at about 7:30pm. The quickest and easiest route to my home was blocked, so instead of taking 15 mins to get home, it took me a whole 3 hrs and some change to make it.

It was so cold last night, I thought my body was going to freeze, fall, and crack into a million pieces on the frozen concrete (like the T-1000 scene from Terminator II).

I was lucky enough not to have to work today! And what did I do? Not a damn thing.

I normally feel like shit when I'm not productive, but today was wonderful. I had dreams where I was a being productive (I think), but every time I opened my eyes I smiled knowing that I hadn't left the comfort and warmth of my bed.

The only time I got up was to see how the snow had swallowed my car. Not one part of it shows, and that's good since I forgot to take my radio out.

It's really not much to write about today, but I had to post something. I read an email from one of the loyal legion, stating that she hates when I don't post. Sorry, but today is just one of those days, but I made an exception just for you. Thank you.

Happy 300th Post!!!

Oh wow!!! I can't believe I have actually posted on this thing 300 times. Well since I hadn't even noticed, it has actually been 303, but I still can't believe it.

I just recently "celebrated" my 1 year anniversary, so I'm not going to do too much "celebrating" now. I just want to thank the loyal legion for their support. I read the emails, and you all are just as crazy as I am. Thank you so much! It means a lot to me.

Well, I guess I'll celebrate 300 posts with 300 Spartans!

thanks again!

Is Tim Burton Directing This One Too?

Apparently, Disney is remaking The Wizard of Oz with Johnny Depp after Robert Downey Jr. dropped out. I'm not sure if this is 100% fact or just one of those rumors that is fed to movie dorks (like myself) just to create buzz about an upcoming project, but I'm hoping it is.

And I don't know if the loyal legion is aware, but Johnny can't seem to make a decent movie without Tim Burton. And I hate to steal from Ricky G. but has anyone seen The Tourist? I knew it would be the most boring movie of the year, and I was proven right by all the negative statuses on facebook (the truth).

However, like X-Men, I'm staying optimistic about this; even if Tim Burton doesn't direct. Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to see Helena Bonham Carter as Dorothy. Bummer.

Happy Anniversary!!!

I have officially been writing on this blog for a year. YAY!!!
What a journey it has been. I can honestly say that the person who started this blog is exactly the same person who is writing this post. I didn't go into this for change, or to document the life of a socially awkward outcast, but just to have something to do.

This blog has been my baby for the past year. And if this blog was my baby and I its mother, then I must be the Joan Crawford "Mommy Dearest" mother. YAY!!!

Throughout the process of writing about my life I have made my loyal legion laugh, cry, moan, groan, angry, and cringe, but no matter what you all have stuck with me. I really appreciate that, thank you.

My favorite posts from the past year:

Usher Kicked In The Face? I Would Have Never Done That On The 8701 Tour!

How dare this over-zealous cow! I know she didn't just roundhouse kick my guy Usher in the face with her cheap-ass payless boot! Was what I thought when I first saw the video, but after watching it over and over again @ 5:23 I can't help but laugh my ass off. He knew what he was getting into before she even sat her excited ass down.

For real? Seriously? You just gonna put your  lady part all up in Usher's face like that and think you won't be punished for it??? For serious girl???

I tell you one thing, Usher is by far the coolest person in the world. Not only would I have thrown this fake ass Trinity out of my concert, but I would have fired her from LIFE!!!

Usher played it off and played cool. Not only was the girl obviously embarrassed, but she was downright crazy! He had to quickly (yet coolly) escort her off stage after making some joke about his past relationship with his ex-husband.

Awww! How can you not love him?

This Actually Looks Pretty Good!

Okay so the trailer for POTC 4 has been released to the public, and I seriously dorked out while watching it. I LOVE the Pirates movies, always have, and I'm so excited to see a new one; especially one not featuring Orlando Bloom and the always pouty Kiera Knightley.

I don't know about my loyal legion, but I absolutely hated the last Pirates movie, so much so that I don't even own it and can't even watch it when it's on the tele. However, I'm hoping that I don't fall under the spell of an awesome trailer and shit movie, because this movie seems like it's going to be pretty good.

I know when I found out about the casting of Ms. Penelope Cruz, I wasn't excited. In fact, I mentioned how much her accent annoys me. That was me being cynical...and I'm sorry. Her accent is very cute! And it would be even cuter if she doesn't annoy me when I go see this film.

the BIRD BIRD BIRD the BIRD is the WORD

I have decided to cut meat out of my diet. Not because I think killing animals is wrong, but because I think them killing me is offensive. I watched this video in class about how majority of all the diseases Americans have stem from animal based product consumption. Yep even fish. Ever heard of mercury poison people?

Well I just gave it all up. At first it was cold turkey, and then I went out and ate a Mickey D snack wrap. I reasoned that since I wasn't keeping my word to myself that I should only kinda cheat. I'm pretty sure Jesse James felt the same way when he told himself that he wasn't really cheating since he was screwing a woman that was half human/half sharpie.

Like I said before, I'm doing this for my health. However, when I say health I'm not talking about losing weight. I could give a damn about losing weight; I just don't want to die prematurely. Cancer, diabetes, cataracts, obesity, arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, chronic migraines, high blood pressure, strokes, and Alzheimer’s all run in my family. I want to make sure that I have a healthy immune system to help me if and when my body gets plagued with one of those harmful alignments.

Today has officially been Day 1 of my vegan mission. I did well until a pizza I had lead me to believe that it was only sauce and crust when in reality the cheese was hidden under the sauce. DAMN YOU HOME RUN INN!

I'm pretty sure Day 2 will be better. I'll make sure I'll keep the loyal legion posted.

I'm so excited

First of all I would like to apologize to my loyal legion for my absence, but I had to catch up with a lot of rest that I hadn't been getting since school had been #1 priority. I vow from here on out to not leave my page vacant of an original thought for more than a week. Once again, I'm sorry.

Now for the exciting news!

The Sex and The City 2 trailer is finally here. I know there was a teaser floating around for a while, but this is a full on theatrical trailer and that is why I'm so FREAKIN EXCITED!

I love Sex and The City regardless of my inability to look at Sarah Jessica Parker's face for more than 2 mins straight...I know what I said was mean, but I love her so suck it!

Anyway, I've been a fan for a while and I honestly know every episode forwards and backwards. Despite my love for this show I must admit that I don't believe in the message that the show and its movie try to get across. I honestly believe that these women were created for entertainment purposes only and that they do not and I repeat DO NOT represent every American woman.

I know there are women out there that feel a need to find their self-worth in a man, but I am not one of them. However, since I am a single woman I like to part take in single woman behavior, which consists of:

enjoying the time I have with my friends, especially my girls! *you know who you are*

The single life is something I learned from Sex and The City. I learned nightlife fashion from Carrie, female empowerment from Miranda, sophisticated charm from Charlotte, and flirty girl behavior from Samantha (EDIT: actually I’m still working on that one). So needless to say, I'm on geek mode when it comes to the Sex and The City 2 movie. Love those girls!
